    New Years Eve 2014 - Part 2

Bruno Mars Las Vegas New Years Eve PartyBruno Mars, New Years Eve

Sunday, the hump day of the week of this New Year's Eve Weekend was just straight insanity or a bust, depending on the venue. 1OAK had the craziest party to close out the year and was the last night of Major Laser's contract with Light Group, before moving to their new residency at Encore. The outside ran very smoothly; getting everyone in that had to get in and maintaining a strong general admission line, shutting down the door when necessary because of being at capacity. There was literally no place to move. Every single table was more than full and the dance floor slammed. All the bars had people waiting, with others wanting to buy any available table.

Diplo got on the mic, started to orchestrate the event, making the place go bananas and become that party that everyone will say that you should have been there. I wanted to change up my night, so I went to Vanity Nightclub at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino, to the Rick Ross party. It was a complete disappointment as not one person was in line, probably because the cover charge was $100 for guys and $50 for girls. HELL NO! I was fortunate enough to be taken care of by the club, and was told that I had perfect timing, because Rick Ross had just entered the building too.

There was little time wasted, Rick Rozay quickly got on the mic to do a few of his newest songs and interact with the crowd. He did about twenty minutes to a less than half filled room, followed by DJ Franzen who always plays the best hip hop you will ever hear in a Las Vegas. I was expecting so much more; over half the bottle service tables were never used however both bars and the dance floor were almost completely clear.

I completed my night by going over to Bank in The Bellagio, for DJ T-Pain, which was the place I should have been for the entire night. It wasn't jammed packed. All of the tables had been sat, T-Pain was on point with every song he played and the dance floor was going strong. Bank was the perfect place to complete my evening.

I continued my partying week on Monday Night, by going to Haze to checkout Wale. It was the first night of a very noticeable drop off of people celebrating and no longer in town. The club was good, a full house upstairs and down with tables sold out. Everyone was excited for the main event of the night. Wale did everything that everyone wanted to hear. He even came over after his performance to the MGM Mirage's Executive table to meet and take pictures with their female guests. I kept things simple and called it an early night so I could be well rested to close out my year.

Finally making it to the much anticipated and long awaited night of the end of the year, I had no plans. I received a call from Cosmopolitan, informing me that they had two tickets for me to go to Bruno Mars, a very cool and unexpected way to close out the year. I put on my best black tuxedo, getting to the show a little late but I was able to make it in for the countdown with Bruno and all of his other fans closing out 2013.

Feeling good and ready to get loose, I went to Marquee for DJ Chuckie, which was pure craziness with all the bells and whistles of the holiday. I walked in and suddenly was thinking in old school Batman subtitles, "Holy Fun Batman"! It was definitely a party!!!!! I decided to slow it down a little and keep my word to some other friends, and went across the way to Haze, for the John Legend Party. Wow, a bad decision! It was dead and incredibly empty. It was so slow that I could go up to the DJ and make a request. I was really disappointed and expected more people, more pizazz, and for the headliner performer to still be around at the minimum at 2A.M. Apparently most of the VIP tables sat empty most of the night as they lie waiting for specific guests that didn't come or stayed only for a short time, while telling other patrons that there were none available.

I was told John Legend put on a good show and left shortly after, along with most of the people that were in attendance too. I made the most of the situation with my friends and threw in the towel after about an hour, knowing that I was going to Surrender Nightclub on New Years Night. I started off this year going to DIPLO at Surrender, the best New Year's Party I have been too in at least five years in Las Vegas! It was the very best party on The Strip over the entire holiday weekend! There was no emphasis on any one kind of music, everybody was on the same page to just have a good time and bring in 2014 Vegas Style. It was a beautiful thing! Thank you Surrender for being different and giving the people what they wanted on New Year's Night!
