Light Reviews

Light is the best of the best new nightclubs on The Las Vegas Strip, in regards to staffing, technology, and overall experience. This Venue is a brilliant collaboration between Light Group and Cirque Du Soleil, literally putting beautiful artistry to music. One of the most important things that I believe will contribute to the success of this club, is its unbelievable location inside the Mandalay Bay, which was formally The Rum Jungle Restaurant and Night Club. Just steps away from the main entrance is the Valet for Mandalay Bay and The Hotel, giving their customers quick and easy access. And if you don't want to valet, you can park yourself in the multiple levels of free covered parking in the garage above the entrance. The Light is not terribly difficult to get into, as long as you follow the directions of the signs that are placed in various locations to let you know where to go for entry. After making it pass the two large doors of Light, you will find yourself going in one of two different directions, which is dependent upon you doing bottle service or just coming in to enjoy the bars and lounge areas. General Admission Patrons walk up an elaborate set of illuminated stairs with mirrored walls, that lead you to the fourth level of the club. There are two full service bars that run along the back wall on fourth and fifth levels. There are also free standing high top tables and lounge areas on both of the bar levels too. Bottle Service is the very best way to truly enjoy and take in all of the features of Light. After entering the doors, you are escorted down a hidden hallway with various points of entry to the different tables around the room. I will paint a picture of the club from the view and location of the DJ Booth. The DJ Booth is located just above center of the dance floor, surrounded by huge state of the art LED Screens, that start from the floor, all the way up and around the ceiling. The back wall of where the DJ Booth is a combination of stages for Cirque Du Soleil Performances and Visionary Genius of Interactive Lighting, controlled by the technicians from their booth on the fifth level. Randomly there are acrobatic Cirque Performers popping out from everywhere, sometimes suspended in the air, running up the back wall of the DJ, or simply doing a solo performance on one of the many small stages around the multiple levels of bottle service tables. Dance Floor Level, tables are in the middle of all of the action, with a set of stairs at each corner, and another at the center, with all of them taking you to the mezzanine. The Mezzanine Level, the most popular and sought after, best view of everything, and has the most security too. The third tier, still great tables, overlooking all of the action and much easier to move around. The fourth tier are above and to the sides of the second level, and are kind of their own little party within the party. The lobby level is where the general admission patrons mingle and drink, with an awesome view of the entire club, still being a part of the action. The fifth level of tables are much like a stadium style, can only be reached by walking up a set of stairs on either end, above everyone and seeing everything below, but away from everyone at the same time. The Technicians booth is in the center, where there is a Zip Line that is sometimes used by the guest DJ's to make their entrance or for a Cirque Performer. The Bathrooms are located on the sides of the two bars and always well staffed, for cleanliness and full of amenities. There is security throughout the club, especially in the table areas, and open areas to maintain the flow of the room. The cocktail waitresses are voluptuous and sexy, bussers are fast, security is attentive, dancers are hot, and the hosts are on top of their game every night. The Bottle Service presentations are super cool and over the top, always giving you a memorable experience. Light is the best club on the US West Coast!

When I went to light I was mesmerized by the gigantic LED screen and All the sexy GoGo dancers dressed in dark unicorn outfits. Not to mention they also have cirque performers in the middle of the club. This place is is entertainment at its finest. I suggest you go see what you have been missing out on. If you're into EDM and you haven't been to light you haven't lived.

Girls! Girls! Girls! Light had everything you want in a club, but was in desperate need of more girls to attempt to balance out the room. The club had nothing but quality tables of male customers, a good amount of industry supporting its local nightlife night, but was missing the random females that make or break any venues party. Overall, there was a lot of energy, a classy crowd, and the few women that were not part of the staff, were beautiful and very appreciated. It was a good night at Light, and even better if you were lucky enough to be near the table of sexy Encore Waitresses celebrating the birthday of one of their very own.

  • Reggie C. commented on Otto Knows

Every night can't be a great night, even if you do have all the bells and whistles that Light has in its disposal. At the same time, a bad night is still pretty good in comparison to most places on The Strip. I still saw a few tables going hard in the paint, buying multiple bottles of Cristal and Dom P, which is all you need for the books. The dance floor and filler crowd were pretty thin, but I didn't hear or see anybody leaving or complaining about having a bad time, so that is a sign a good product at work.

Please Don't Kill My Vibe, Please Don't Kill My Vibe! Those five words describe how I felt after going to the Beats By Dre Party last Thursday Night. It was another great experience for the books at the club, seeing a place full of White Collar Corporate America singing and bouncing to the lyrics of Kendrick Lamar.

Excited for a fun night at Light! Panic at The Disco and J Cole in concert before Krewella, sounds like the only game in town to me.

  • Reggie C. commented on A-Trak with Steve Powers

I went to Light after the Jay Z Show, to a full house of fun and cool visual affects. The opening dj was killing me with his old repertoire of house music, felt like I was in Drais in 2001. Atrak came on and gave me hope, opening with some sick scratching and then dropped some cliché house tracks with some nice breaks here and there. He is a good dj, but every time he plays, it seems that he goes into his hip hop set far too late. Light was and will continue to be great for the simple fact that it is the full package, having everything you want in a club and then some.

  • Reggie C. commented on Nathan Scott

I changed my plans from finishing, to actually starting off my night last Wednesday at Light. I am glad I did, because it was pretty good early for Vegas standards. It was full of good looking young women as usual, but was lacking energy. Overall, a good time, but I could tell that there had to be another club where everyone else decided to make their night. I am very sure this Wednesday, being a normal week, that the club will be the spot.

Thanksgiving Eve is always one of those nights that you have to go out. I know that Light will be going strong and long, and will be where I finish my night.

  • Reggie C. commented on Blow Out Wednesdays

Despite the club not being its normal jam packed self, it was full of nothing but quality and the real shot callers of the Las Vegas Nightlife. It was a big boy industry night, including heavy hitters as Andrew Sasson, Andy Masi, Jason Strauss, Mark Packer, Rich Wolf, Arash Azarbarzin, Costas Charalambous, and many more. If you don't know these names, learn them, they are the check writers of the strip and around the country. The club was full of men in suits and women who knew how to act like a lady. Overall a great night, minus the weak set of ATrak, who didn't play the correct combination of music until around 215am. Even on a bad night, its still a good night at Light!

  • Reggie C. commented on Alesso

I walked in a little before 2am to find the club still rocking out to Alesso, with a full dance floor and most of the tables still full around the venue. It was a lot of energy in the room.

I would not be doing my job if I skipped out on catching the energy and sounds of Alesso, along with the good looking crowd of Light.
