Sultan and Ned Shepard (Stylized as Sultan + Ned Shepard) are a Canadian electronic music duo who frequently collaborate in record production songwriting and remixing. Sultan was born Ossama Al Sarraf. After living in Kuwait Cyprus and Egypt he moved to Montreal in 1996 to pursue mechanical engineering and business. While in university he became immersed in Montreal nightlife and the house scene. A series of gigs DJing led to the release of his first track "Primal Instinct". Sultan was signed to Chug Records in 2001. In 2004 Sultan starred in a documentary Being Osama which detailed his Christian Palestinian roots.

The club is inspired by the sexy curves of the human body. More than 10,000 individual light sources illuminate the club, and focal features include gold leaf body forms, outdoor VIP cabanas, an illuminated outdoor pool and a large dance floor. As one of the most sophisticated nightclubs in the world, XS provides an elegant and passionate club environment that surrounds Encore’s sparkling pool. Designed by Roger Thomas, executive vice president of design for Wynn Design and Development, the venue is inspired by the sexy curves of the human body and decorated in rich gold, black, bronze and browns.
