Winter Music Conference Dates Announced... Artists Rebel.
Wednesday, November 17th 2010Winter Music Conference dates have been released and has caught everyone off guard. 2011's WMC will be March 8-12. For those who have attended WMC, they know that it has always been the last week of March. These dates also conflict with the South By Southwest conference in Austin, TX March 11-20.
WMC has traditionally coincided with the Ultra Music Festival in Miami. Dates for UMF are March 25-27. Many artists are taking to twitter to express their views on the change of dates.
@SAngelloLIVE is rallying other DJ's tweeting "Let's rebel the wmc dates", "3.500 people attend the conference, 400.000 people attend the party's .. Why move the dates and confuse people ??", and "People I won't be in miami 8th - 12th .. I'm having my size part the last week of march ... And most of the people I know will be there."
@djafrojack has tweeted, "Honestly f* it only once have i seen a small segment of the conference, the rest was all ultra, @SAngelloLIVE partys and @davidguetta partys"
Not everyone is jumping on the bandwagon though. The Ministry of Sound is still planning on holding their shows to coincide with the WMC dates.
